IT’S BEEN 8 GREAT YEARS!

2010 marked the 7th anniversary of our event, and with it came a continued strength and commitment to making it a special day for all those who attended. With the participation of the Toronto Police Force, we reached out to the community in new days focusing on new areas of safety that was met with tremendous interest. We also continued to add to the monies we’ve raised for Safe Communities Canada reaching beyond $125,000 raised.

With the gracious generosity of North Toronto arena and their hockey program, we were able to extend the kids skills to accommodate more ice time and more kids. the 80+ kids who participated had a blast and once again we send out a big thank you to all the parents who made generous donations and committed their time to be part of this event and to make time for their kids to participate in our 2nd annual safety orientation session.

The men’s hockey was once again a great success with the number of players pushing the 100 mark, the fast paced action that followed seemed to surpass the expectations of those packing a few extra beers in their belly this year and once again brought together friends from across the country to celebrate the life and memories of a special friend that we all had in Sean Kells.

With another jam-packed after party taking place at the The Pilot, we walked away once again raising over $20,000 in what we’ll lightly call a very difficult year for all charities trying to raise money and pushing our overall total of donations to over $125,000. This is something that we should all be proud of, it’s a milestone that few charities can feel proud to reach and thanks to the love and support of hundreds of people we’ve made it to that level.

The Kellsie committee can’t wait for September 24, 2011 and the start of another great event. Get those lungs in shape and the legs loose, because as always we’re expecting some fast paced action and another great day of hockey.
